Are they based more on age than actual size? So a Mature adult green dragon is slightly bigger than an Adult green dragon but still within the huge category and therefore has a slightly longer tail? I take it the claw attack of the Elder Black Dragon should have a 5 ft reach and not 10 ft to fit in with the rest? And should the gargantuan sized versions of the black dragon have a claw reach of 10 since all the other chromatics seem to have that?

Hi, Robert! There is a Fantasy Grounds adaptation by Rob Twohy; the link is now in the product description. This book along with its sequel is a true necessity for anyone wishing to use dragons in their games. While I appreciate not having half of a monster manual dedicated to dragons there was a need for an official 5th edition dracononomicon that these two books more than fulfill. I really like the book. I have been thinking about doing something like this but if I wrote out the charts, it wouldn't be compatible with 5E RAW.

It should take an army to face a great wyrm. This gives me a good starting point to build charts. I showed it to one of the DM's that I have taught and he likes it. I really adore this document but have noticed that when opting to make certain Age Catagories a smaller size than their PHB counterpart, nothing in their HP changed. Hey Cody, glad to hear you like it! The hit points were left as they were by design, despite the change in size, to remain consistent with the Monster Manual.
Instead of using size categories for hit dice, a dragon's hit die increases in size when it reaches the Juvenile, Mature Adult, and Ancient age categories, to make them consistent across the board.
